Why We Built Treetop Friends
Most preschool curriculums were designed decades ago. The world has changed — but they haven't.
When Brandi Watterson opened her first childcare center in 2009, she discovered a frustrating gap in early childhood education. The curriculums available fell into two camps:
The "Fun but Fluff" Problem
Lots of crafts and activities — but no real developmental progression. Kids had fun, but weren't building the skills they needed for kindergarten success.
The "Overwhelm" Problem
Heavy on academics and worksheets, but impossible for teachers to actually implement. Hours of prep time led to burnout, unused materials, and wasted budgets.
After running multiple schools and testing every major curriculum on the market, Brandi's team knew it was time to build something better.
In 2020, Treetop Friends was born.
